March 11th and 12th, several students from MVJMC participated in the Alabama Christian Education Association's state wide Fine Arts competition. The members who participated were Marissa, Victoria W., Patrick , Christine, Valerie, Emily, and Victoria G. All these students participated in several solo and group catagories such as: choir, select ensembles, band, handbell choir, speech, preaching, and Bible teaching. We are only listing the individual wins in this post.
Victoria G. tied with first in the sacred duet catagory with Emily and Valerie with a Superior rating with their song "Cares Chorus" arranged by Marilyn Hamm.
Christine placed first in French Horn solo with a Superior rating and third in sacred piano solo.
Marissa placed first in flute solo with a Superior rating and second in her small instrumental ensemble with Abby with a Superior rating.
First place winners from another school chose not to compete at the National level in this catagory so Abby and Marissa will be competing at Nationals in their place. We will be praying for you!
