MVJMC entered students for the first time in the National Association of Teacher's of Singing vocal auditions that were held at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al. Kristen and Marissa had to sing two memorized art songs/arias for judges. Each catagory selected 3 winners (finalists) from their room to have the opportunity to sing for the entire audience and judges. The judges present in the auditions selected the final winners of each catagory via secret ballot.
Marissa made the finals for her catagory and performed "The Lord is My Light" for the audience at UA. She placed third in her catagory. Congratulations girls on a job well done! Special thanks to our accompanist Dr. William Schliefer for his willingness to travel to Tuscaloosa to accompany these ladies. Due to his excellent musicianship and accompanying skills, Marissa's mother had the opportunity to witness. "Life is not about me and not about you, but it IS ALL ABOUT JESUS!"
