Several students from Mountain View Jr. Music Club also attend Mountain View Baptist School where they have the opportunity to compete against other students in Christian schools across Alabama. The competition encompasses the areas of sports, academics, Bible, art, and music. Marissa competed in Sr. high music theory and won second place in the state!
We have several students practicing to enter the Fine Arts competition held in Oxford, Al. in mid-March. Valerie, Emily, Christine, Victoria and Marissa will be entering the piano duet competition. Marissa and Valerie will also be competing in classical piano solo. Victoria W., Christine, Victoria G. and Marissa will represent our school in the female vocal solo competition. Most of these girls are involved in choir, band, and hand bells as well. We have some very gifted students and they are SWEET to boot!
Our prayer is that God will use competiton to motivate the students to further develop their gifts and talents for the Lord's work. We are so thankful for our students and their willingness to share their musical talents every opportunity the Lord provides. (Whether that be in hospitals, church and chapel services, nursing homes or just for family and friends. )
Students, we love you and are proud of you! Your weekly progress keeps us encouraged!
