In September, The Endicotts had the opportunity to bring a musical program and Bro. Endicott brought the sermon to the members of Upper Room Baptist Church. MVJMC students Garron, Alayna, and Ashlyn sang and played their instruments as part of the musical program. What a blessing it was to minister to those people.
Elmcroft Assisted Living Center
Our school students have had the opportunity to go to Elmcroft Assisted Living Center to perform for the residents there every Tuesday morning. The students perform as a class for the residents, as well as performing for Mountain View Baptist Church's Prime Timer luncheons. A different class performs every week. This provides opportunities for the students to sing and play their perfected pieces for an audience, and to learn how to minister to others with the gifts God has given them.
Mountain View Baptist School was asked to present a music program for the Allegro Music Club on October 4th, which was held at the First United Methodist Church. The musical program featured the Handbell choir of MVBS and several students from the MVJMC. Piano selections were performed by Christine W., Emily J., Marissa M., Valerie J., and Victoria W. Vocal selections were performed by Christine and Marissa M. We praise God for the opportunities He has given to witness through the avenue of music to our community.
Our vocal students have also had several opportunities to sing the National Anthem this semester. Shayna was asked to sing for her home school homecoming football game at Hope Christian Academy. Christine, Kristen, Marissa, and Victoria W. sang the National Anthem for the first home game of Mountain View Baptist School and Marissa sang it as a solo at the last home game in December.

In late October at the University of Montevallo, Marissa was selected, with several other high school and college students, to sing/perform an art song in a N.A.T.S fall workshop master class taught by guest clinician Dr. Stephen King of Rice University and the Houston Grand Opera.

In closing, a special thank you to all the students who minister to your individual church congregations on a weekly basis by serving the Lord as choir and orchestra members, vocal and instrumental soloists, and accompanists. The Lord knows your heart and notices all your labors for Him and I am sure you are a blessing to your Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Music Leaders.
